About me, this site and youWelcome!I'm a "hobby-environmentalist" with 'green leanings', while enjoying many benefits of our energy-dependent society. I keep up-to-date by reading popular and professional journals, 'surfing the web', and university study [1]. This website was inspired by an article in the New Scientist about fertilising oceans with iron to reduce atmospheric carbon dioxide [2]. However necessary the limitation of global warning, this particular proposal filled me with horror. Having read a wealth of publications from all sides, my investigatation into the "what, why, how, who and where" of ocean iron-fertilisation has not changed my views - but they are now more informed. This site presents a synthesis of my reading and my conclusions. My target audience is "someone like me": an 'interested layman', aware of environmental concepts and concerns, and alarmed (or excited) by the proposal to dump tonnes of iron into our oceans.
